How does a virtual conference work?
Our virtual conference will be very similar to our live conference, except that everything will be online. You will still be able to attend workshops (webinars) and keynote speeches, network with others, and pitch to agents and editors. You’ll even get conference swag—we’ll mail the goodies bag to you. And, we’ll still have a silent auction (online, of course) to benefit Literature for All of Us.

When can I register?
We will start accepting new registrations sometime the week of June 21.

How much does it cost?
General registration costs $150. If you wish to add Zoe York’s all-day “Romance Your Brand” master class on Thursday, July 23, registration costs $175.

What happens if I’m already registered for the “real” conference?
No problem. We will transfer your current registration to the virtual conference and refund you the price difference. You will automatically have access to the Thursday master class.

How do I register and enter the event?
Here are some basic instructions on how to register. This video will walk you through the process of accessing the event, setting up one-on-one networking, joining workshops, and visiting exhibitors’ virtual booths. As the conference draws closer, we will share more instructions. The first thing you should do after registering is to update your profile. Add a photo and info about you and your interests, This will make networking much easier.

Are the workshops “live”? Can I ask the presenter questions?
Some workshops will be streamed “live,” and you will be able to ask the presenter questions via chat. Other webinars will be pre-recorded, but there will be live Q&A sessions when attendees can send questions via chat in real time.

Can I attend your conference if I don’t write romance?
Absolutely! Even if you don’t write romance, you’ll find plenty of workshops to keep you busy. Here’s a full lineup of our workshops.

I can attend only one day of the conference. Do you have one-day passes?
Unfortunately, we do not offer one-day passes. However, registrants will have access to recorded versions of the workshops that will be available after the conference ends.

I volunteered! When will I find out my volunteer assignment?
Thank you for volunteering. We can’t run the conference without our volunteers! We will email your assignment and responsibilities to you.

I signed up to pitch. Am I guaranteed a pitch appointment? How many pitch appointments do I get?  
Our goal is to give ONE pitch appointment to everyone who wants one, but with many registrants requesting to pitch to a handful of agents and editors, we cannot guarantee everyone an appointment. Pitches are assigned in the order we receive registration and payment.

Do I have to register for the conference to attend the Featured Books event?
If you would like to participate as an author at the book event, yes. Our book event is free and open to the public to attend as a reader. 

I registered for Spring Fling but something came up. How do I cancel my registration?
Please e-mail the Chicago-North treasurer as soon as possible at cnrwa-treasurer@chicagonorthrwa.org. Note: We cannot accept any cancellations after July 9. But the good news is that conference registrants will be able to access recorded versions of the webinars and speeches after the event.
